There are many complete applications when it comes to sound sequencing or programming our own music like Ableton Live or Reason, but if what we want is an easy to use versatile application that in based on loops to create our own music, we should choose FL Studio also known as Fruity Loops 9.1.

This great tool uses a step sequencer to intuitively program rythms, plus the classic Piano Roll to sequence all type of riffs and melodies. Furthermore it works with a modular instrument system (sampler, synthesizer, VSTi instruments) that can be edited and configure. Streamlining this to one click would be helpful. A scheduling utility automates both scans and updates, while the upgrade ad at the screen’s bottom can be easily hidden using the Hide Notification button. When starting a scan, a slider makes it easy to jump between Slow, Automatic, and Fast scans: the faster the scan, the less comprehensive it is, so users should take advantage of the scan optimization that is recommended during installation to speed up that first scan. A progress meter for regular scans would’ve been useful, though. Should a virus create serious problems, AVG antivirus creates a rescue disk to scan your computer in MS-DOS mode.
